| Irina Bobosko, center, at company Christmas party |
In 2004 we had an intern work for us for a year, her hometown was Kyiv, Ukraine. Irina Bobosko was one of my favorite employees, out of the hundreds of interns from around the world that Buchholz Nursery has hosted. She was interested in forestry because she grew up next to one of the city's famous parks, and she pleaded with Haruko and I to visit her beautiful city. When Charles de Gaulle visited Kyiv, he supposedly uttered: “I've seen many parks in cities, but I have never seen a city in a park.”

Well, Irina toiled for me in 2004, but sadly we never found the time to reciprocate. Now she is a wife and mother, and I don't know the extent of her forestry career. I remember her beautiful smile in the mornings, and her vivacious personality won over all of my company's employees. Every day I would greet her with a bellow: “GOOD MORNING IRINA BOBOOOOSKO!”
We worry about her safety of course, as well as the future of the proud nation itself. Let's hope the rest of the world will decisively unite to repel the putinous assault on Ukrainian independence.
I too am praying for the people and the nation of Ukraine. Our best hope is that the Russian people and the Russian military say 'enough is enough'. ππ

ReplyDeleteContinuing to pray for Ukraine and all of their wonderful people We in the Pacific Northwest of America continue to count our blessings every day.
ReplyDeleteDear Mr.Talon Buchholz))) I am very glad that you remember me, support me and support my people. I am at home in Ukraine, but far from Kyiv with my children and mother. This is a safe place for now. I don’t stand behind, I help our soldiers with medicine, food, clothes and so on. Everything that is happening to my people and country now is like a bad nightmare. I am very sad, hurt and sad to watch this. It is still unbelievable that Ukraine is a buffer zone for Russia's war with the world, but this devil is a real threat to all earthly people. We pray and hope that this will end soon. Thank you for being with us. Stand with Ukraine ππ»ππ
