This blog is inspired by a long-time customer who received a
shipment of plants from us last week. I know that she doesn't want to be
identified because she is of the belief that she should keep her plant-supplier
confidential. We'll call her Jane Doe, and she sent the following email
the day after her plants arrived:
Dear Talon, Eric and Seth,
Words cannot explain how
absolutely awesome your shipment to us was yesterday. My staff was so
tired, and they saw that 53 foot truck roll in and I think they all wanted to
quit. However, when we started to unload, the mood completely
changed. By the time we were done unloading they were all talking about
which plants THEY wanted to buy. It was raining very hard when we
unloaded. All the customers that were in the nursery were watching.
The customer carts were being filled as I was trying to keep up with their
questions about pricing. We sold a ton of your plants yesterday and
customers are all over them today. I am having a hard time keeping up
with the questions and the demand. People have come in and are now
calling their friends to get to the nursery quick to see these plants before
they are gone.
THANK YOU sincerely. The
buzz around here is absolutely incredible…and it is all thanks to you. We
appreciate it greatly.
Jane Doe
I always pick out her order myself, just to ensure that she
gets the very best. She is also able to buy plants that are not for sale yet – those
that I bought to propagate the year before for example. You see: I am a simple
man, and I always fall for a happy elegant woman, so that even if the letter
was an exaggeration and the plants not quite so “awesome,” she certainly knows
the correct approach to use with me.
So, what plants made her so happy? I'll spare you from my
usual plant tome, and we'll just take a visual tour.
